Location: Spencer, OH | I am having trouble with my battery life with my OP30 on my 12 String. Was fine for the first year, but now the battery last only a week. I only use this guitar acustically and the OP30 I use for tuning only. Any thoughts? |

Location: Spencer, OH | I do not play through an amp, I just use it for tuning. |

Location: Boise, Idaho | My Optima has a tendency to turn on the tuner by itself. It uses up batteries in a few days. I just started taking the battery out when not in use. |

Location: Northern Virginia | I've worked in wireless electronic security for almost 20 years and I've come to learn a lot about batteries. Check with Kaman and see what the life should be. I would be surprised if it shouldn't last at least a year, but probably more. If you're only using it for tuning the auto-shutoff feature should be getting you closer to two years or more. There is a 9-volt lithium made, which is slightly larger and I'm not sure it would fit in the compartment. It would give you more like 5 to 7 years. But the battery is not the issue here as you've already replaced it (I'm assuming with a fresh one.) The circuit is drawing current when it should be off, OR when it is on it is drawing far too much current due to a faulty component. Must be repaired/replaced. |

Location: Spencer, OH | I agre with you that it is either not turning off or there is a short in the unit itself. I have contacted Ovation and they sent me to a local dealer and they agree with my thoughts as well. I e-mailed Ovation again explaining what I was told but I have not been able to get anyone from Ovation to respond to my second e-mail. I am pretty lost as to what to do from here. |

Location: Keller, TX | You can send it to me. I could look around to see if I could come up with something to fix it. May take 8-10 months or so.... |
