I started with a clone Ovation - an Elite (made in the same Korean factory with the Korean Ovations). Had it for 5 months. It was great. But then, nothing like the real thing.

So, I picked up an Elite Special - it goes with me to church. I have no problems with anyone wanting to have a go at it, just as long as I'm around.

Then, I picked up a Martin 000-M at the beginning of April last year, just to have an alternative. Within a week, I was tired of it and wanted to sell it. In the meantime, Adamas had already caught my eye.

The Martin was a great guitar but it just wasn't me. I took it to the shop I bought it from and traded (after having it for 16.5 months) it in for an Adamas CVT-Bronze. It comes with an Optima pick-up. The selling price of the Adamas was $2,928. Its a '94 year of manufacture model. But it sounds, feels and looks great. :-) :)

Nice Alan. Ya know what they say..."Once you go roundback, you'll never go back" or something like that. Welcome to the club too!

Welcome to the OFC by the way! :)

That's a tough call for me ... I happen to like both Ovations and Martins. Nevertheless, congrats on your new guitar, and it will surely bring you many years of great music and fun!

Thanks, guys. Hal, nothing was really wrong with the Martin. The sound was very raw - great for lots of music. But, somehow, I never really felt comfortable playing with it. I bought it initially, because I liked the sound.

But it was a bit of a fussy guitar. The Martin strings rusted very, very quickly, & extra care had to be taken just to maintain the finish of the guitar.

Maybe, the real "excuse", err, I mean reason(hee hee) was I wanted the Adamas. I played with my Elite special a lot, but the Martin was hardly touched.
