Location: closely held secret | It's been a perfect evening for staying up late - turned on the tube and there was a ParanoidBroadcastingSystem special on Harry Chapin featuring 6 or 7 songs done live (looked like a Custom Legend on "Mr. Tanner"!) followed by Soundstage featuring Lindsay Buckingham and Stevie Nicks. At last a great evening of TV.
Anyway, then I go to ebay to check new listings and find this. I think the seller might be a little bit confused about what he has. I asked him to show some pictures of the actual guitar and we might be able to help him figure it out... |

Location: NJ | Harry used an Ovation Classical for a year or two (but I guess a CL's a possibility . . . tho' i've never seen him use one). Before that it was Martins, . . . after that it was Alvarez-Yairi . . . . |

Location: closely held secret | It could have been a classical, they only shot it once or twice. Couldn't get a clear look at the headstock. 2 or 3 different Martins. Many good songs. |

Well, maybe a little cranky. My wife left for China yesterday morning and I hate going to bed when she's away, so I sit up late and play guitar (I think I'm liking my new 1777lx!) and/or watch tv. Just lucked out last night with some quality stuff to enjoy.
Lindsay Buckingham certainly has an interesting style. He fingerpicks leads, it's really hard to figure out how and what he's doing. |

Location: closely held secret | btw, did you look at the link above?
I think he:
took the 1561 off his Balladeer, tried to interpret the model number through the Ovation Magic Decoder (which shows the 1561 to be deep bowl)
added the 'B' (um, B(lack cherry burst), I guess - didn't know they had BCB in '83), and got 1983 from the serial.
Then used a picture of a 1983-B Greyburst Collectors SSB to illustrate his 1561 black cherry burst Balladeer deep bowl.
Would be interesting to see what he really is trying to sell. |
