Location: Munich, Germany | When I saw the video of "Hurt" for the first time - it was shown before "American Recordings 5" CD was released, I got tears in my eyes.
It looked to me like Cash was saying goodbye to all of his fans in there - all of the old clips inserted, June Carter Cash, how she watched him with this sad smilie from the stairs, the old shaky Cash with his guitar, pouring the wine on the table - i really felt miserable with the fact of being a great Cash fan since I was a child.
It was nearly unbelievable that June died just a few days later, but although Cash wasn't that ill that everybody thought - he just got a wrong description of his deseases by his doc - I was sure he won't stay any longer after his beloved wife died.
And he followed her soon.
RIP, Johnny and June, you made a lot of people happy with your music and helped them to carry on.
Kurt
By the way, "Hurt", the way Cash sang it, is still one of the tunes I always play everytime I pick up a guitar. |

1. Ignorance
2. They got a *cough* DEAL *cough* on the Gibson that Martin would never match.
My guess is #2 |
