I bought an amp from a neighbor of mine about 30 years ago and am now just getting around to find some information on it.

Yeah, I know - leave it alone already.

It's a Baldwin Pro C1 which I believe was distributed by Gretsch back in the day but I know very little beyond that other than it's heavy as hell and sounds great. Just looking for any information anyone may have - thanks.

I had a Baldwin 6 string guitar back in the '70s.

Based on current ebay pricing, I wish I still had it!

Well, some guy in England was selling his C1 back in the Fall (see here ) for $2k Euro. Same amp that I bought for $50 although his is probably in a little better shape. Not sure II'm going to be selling it but it would be nice to have some info on it. Guess it was really never that important before - I just played through it because it sounded great.

He's saying it was once owned by the Beach Boys but I would assume that's going to be hard to prove. Anyway - just looking for info now.

It's worth about what you paid.

Thanks, Paul. For that I'll keep it in the basement and let the guys crank on it when they pop over. Frankly I was never going to sell it anyway as I couldn't see it as worth much more than what I paid for it.

If their amps are anything like their guitars, we're talkin' keepers!

I have a Baldwin 712 sunburst 12er in excellent condition that will be passed on, due to the workmanship, to my offspring ! Mine had the parts made in Italy and assembled in Arkansas.
