Not as nice as Willa's, but I like it. Just arrived today.

My initial impression - very nice. I've been able to play it a little now & here's what I think. Neck is (to me) kinda of a soft V, very comfortable, neck is left a natural color & looks nice that way. Action is good & I measured
2-3/16 at the 12th fret. This feels good to me & is right out of the box. Frets are smooth with small (almost tiny) abalone dots. The fingerboard has a streaky looking finish to it. I don't know if this is on purpose or not, but it doesn't really look too bad. Abalone bound body & the leafs epulets are nice also. The biggest attraction to me is the Spalted Maple. A very nice figured wood and looks fanastic! I'm sure at this price point it's laminate, but it sure does sound nice. A little darker than I expected - but then again - I wasn't sure what to expect - however, I like to sound. All in all I'm very happy with it. Mid bowl, so it's very comfortable to play. I think Ovation got it right on this model - it's a keeper. Here's another pic of the body.

Alan, that is PURTY! It almost looks like it has a high arched heart smack in the center. Very, very nice! Congratulations!

Gee, Alan, if she plays even half as nice as she looks, you'll be in for a good time.
Looks like a really good get.

I once had a CC44-4, so mine was not quite as PURDY (is the correct spelling).
Those are actually nice guitars. I know that Ovation Guitars don't get the respect they deserve.
Much more so with Celebrity's.
[See sig? I even bought one recently]
But I remember my CC44 fondly!

Now that I hunted-down that pic, I really do miss that guitar...
[I looked younger then... And it wasn't that long ago!]

Thanks everybody for the great comments. Hey Old Man Art, I see you're in Portland - I lived there 8 years before I moved back to Ind 12 years ago. I lived just outside Multnomeh Village. Loved my time there, but with no family I decided to come home. I like the Celebrity you had - nice looking.
