Can anyone explain how my 1613-4 ended up with a 5 digit serial number?
I bought this new in '78 and never noticed this oddity.

Could it have been built in '72-'73 and sat in a music store (unsold) until you adopted it?

Or else,...

Damn, you got one of only FIVE GOLDEN TICKETS, Charlie, and you MISSED the factory tour. Heavy bummer. Maybe it's not too late. Ask our Webmaster: The Ovation Man Can!

That label was there when I bought it. That and the original foil label.
I had a new top/bowl put on in 95. MS transferred it to the new bowl. They didn't question it at the time. Even listed that as the SN on the top replacement invoice.

Nothing about the guitar was unusual originally. Standard 1613. I am the original registered owner.

...and the yellowing around the edges wasn't there before they moved it from the original bowl.
