Location: Miami | I'm curious to know the essential differences between the Legend and the Custom Legend, and the Elite and the Custom Elite. One has AA grade spruce and the other AAA grade; but what does that really add up to? I've heard that spruce grades depend on cosmetic appeal rather than superior sound potential. Are the differences mainly in terms of bling? |

| Bling - CL has abalone purfling, dot-and-diamond abalone fret markers, a carved bridge, abalone rosette, and depending on the year, a carved truss rod cover. The essentials of the guitar are the same. |

In the 1970's, it was a matter of trim and bracing, the CL having an A braced top, the Legend's was VT braced.
From about 1980 on, the only difference was trim.... |
