Location: Ft. Lauderdale, Florida | I must play one cord alot, I have a worn out fret... Are frets super glued in place or just hammered in the old fashionedf way ???
On a 6751 12 string Baladeer, about 2004 vintage...

Does the factory keep track of Glued and Hammered vs just Hammered ???
Perhaps a call to the factory, with a serial number, will clear this up...

| Are you considering replacing it yourself?
I just had a partial refret done on one of my guitars and it wasn't too expensive. I just didn't want to wait for it to be done.
I have read about how to do it, and I am pretty good at building and fixing things, but haven't done much with instruments.
In a one book (I don't remember which one) they encourage practice on scrap wood before the real thing. |

I would get the actual fret itself from the factory, so it would match the others and put it in myself. I have most of the tools. I even have a credit at Stewart-MacDonald and boo qoo books on fret work. The critical part is actually taking out the old one and not pulling up any of the fretboard. The factory frets are all ready curved, if my memory is correct, from a Factory Tour...
