Hi folks,
where are the owner of a 2010 Collectors'?
I want to hear something about your experiences on that nice guitar. May be a new one (2011C ???) will come up soon.
I have one and I'm very happy with it. It sounds great and I meen great at all jobs. Picking, strumming, everything, it's really a good all around guitar. The neck is the best I've ever played, but it's the only walnut neck I own. If it's 1 3/4" it's a "dream"-neck for me.

Bernie,
I'm loving mine. I wasn't too sure at first, but as I played it more, it really has developed a nice tone. I won't say that it's better than the others. Just another great sounding, playing and looking guitar from Ovation.
Oh, and if you wouldn't spend so much time in the For Sale section, you probably wouldn't post in the wrong forum.

Bernie,

I had already given up on Ovation wood top guitars and especially the multi hole elite things. Yuck! But I had the opportunity to buy s/n 001 of he 2010 guitar and I figured what the heck. Probably wouldn't be worth anything special financially but from a nostalgic point of view I thought having numereo uno might be kind of cool given the pending demise of US production.

But when I got it, I was pleasently surprised by the overall tone. Unfortunately I longer have similar guitars to A/B it against but to my memory it sounded every bit as fine as some of the best wood tops like the FD14 and 1537. Adn the fit, trim, quality seemed top notch. A very well done guitar in all regards.

Playing it against wooden box guitars of various sizes, woods, and builders the 2010 also holds it's own very nicely. The tone is unique and a bit darker than most other guitars I own. Almost has a koa type tone to my ears. Very nice, and fills a good niche for me. My only serious complaint is the narrow neck width.

Btw, not sure about a 2011 Collectors Series. I have not heard anything and maybe they have finally let the concept die a natural death. Probably a good thing. Notice that the 2010 wasn't actually called or advertised as the "2010 Collectors Series". It was just a "limited edition" guitar. Better to do it that way and not tie yourself to the calendar in my opinion. Who says every 12 months you have a good idea? maybe sometimes it's 6 or 24 ?

Okay, I think so, or the others are too shy to post there opinions.

But you guys are absolutely right with my own:
It's a great guitar, I never want to miss in my herd.
Thanks a lot for your experiences!
