Welcome. You have good taste. Good luck. I assumed the 1995 was a typo, but I see you said it twice. 1996 was the year of the Book.

Also, Daddy's.com has had a black 87C up for months. Don't know the condition other than the bridge looks to have been replaced. Might be worth a trip to the mothership though.

You won't regret an '87C. It is a great guitar and very, very pretty. The Book Elite may be as good but I don't think it's as pretty. Personal choice. If you can lay your hands on a Nakao, do it. They are first class instruments and as pretty as either.

Not sure why you'd want both the book elite AND the 87 collector (look who's talking). You';d be better off to get the 87C and a BOOK MANDO.
