Joined: April 2008 Posts: 498 | I am looking for a manly-neck deep-bowl Ovation... as long as solid and player no major issues finish, and/or cosmetics, modifications, repairs can be overlooked. I purchased a 1114-4 here a while back, and was represented with some pictured dings and a "small" neck twist "but still playalbe".... but even use of "shims", "tapers", and "Truss rod adjustments, and shimming the neck and use of wooody's and other BFLG recommendations from Chris and others... the guitar remanined un-playbable even tried cutting a new nut in addition to the taper... but still remained unplayable I shipped the Guitar to Mwoody many months ago, and he tried and tried, but could not get it to play properly either,,, I think it now resides in his parts bin and will be used for other vintage repairs and hardware... "minus the slightly twisted neck" or has been already broken down into components. anway, I would like to have a players wide neck (1-7/8 or 2" nutwidth) slothead guitar, Steel strung, and 12 or 14 fret or cutaway or not is not important. so models available I guess would be: Josh White 1114 1614 97 collectors W-N ahem....FD-14 6774 Folklore 2774 Folklore Contour.. I know all of these are hard to find, and I thought I was getting a good one when I purchased and completed the transaction I did, and was a vey nice looking 1114-4... but wound up being a wallhanger every where it went, and the seller pretty much left me to my own devices to get it repaired... we tried. If anyone has a wide neck deep bowl at a fair price, that doesn't need t trip to the mothership, please let me know. Thanks, Glenn ps. thanks for all the prayers... surgery was a success, still a little pain, but diet is already moving it's way over to normal. the prayers, good thoughts, karma, and wishes and dreams were very much appreciated. | ||
