Location: Waterloo, IL | Looks kind of ugly in the picture. I wonder how it really sounds? From the description it sounds like the guy just wants to unload the guitar. Wonder if he wants to unload it because he doesn't want it, or just has a great disliking for the sound of it? Did this model have a decent sound when it first came out? |

Location: Scotland | They sound like generic $200 Korean rock guitars, which is OK if your're into that, and they can usualy be made to play pretty well. For the money they are (in the words of Mr Hiatt) perfectly good guitars, if a little "80's spandex & big hair Rawk". But, for a few bucks more you could grab a vintage USA-made Viper, Preacher or UK2 which are significantly better instruments |

Location: Waterloo, IL | Thanks, Paul. I always like to see answers in plain English like this. It is much easier for me to understand. After buying the Pacemaker from Nashville, it will probably be another year or two before I can buy another guitar. Maybe then I can find a good US made Ovation electric. Until then, I am sure I will be happy with the two acoustics. :D However, it is always good to learn a little more about what is out there. |
