Location: boulder | Hi everyone,
Ok, I'm fishing for opinions about this guitar choice.
Would you rather BUY an Ovation 1777-L-USA,(that's the flag painted legend which is limited to 75 guitars) or an ovation 1779-cl-USA (that's the flag painted custom legend which is not limited, but is a low production model)?
Supose the 1777-L is a Factory Reconditioned Guitar (FRG), but still holds its serial # (#29) and hence it's place in the limited production run? Would your buying choice still be the same?
Now, how about the choice of Owning/playing? Regardless of the cost, which guitar would you want to own/play, with the choices from above (i.e. FRG 1777-L-usa or 1779-CL-usa)?
BTW, did anyone know that when a limited edition guitar becomes a FRG (or a second as Ovation called it)it still keeps it's serial number and place in the limited edition? As Usual, thanks for your thoughts, peace from boulder, colorado, mike |

look at gibson electrics that are "2" from the sixties and seventies they usually do not bring as much as a 1 BUT are you buying it to play or resell??? big difference |

Location: Upper Left USA | I have a habit of buying high and selling low - so I would put sight and sound over resale or collectivity.
Which one makes YOU look better when you play in front of a mirror? IMHO - You get the Flag motif to stand out - which is cool. Will you feel like a lesser Patriot if it is not the Limited Model or if it is a "lesser" Limited. I am also cheap. I would be estimating sound/cost value. |

| I too not collecting for $ value or resale. and a beginning player. would buy only the best guitar I could afford. and that in my opinion depends solely on the instrument. not the sticker price.
The main reason the O's outnumber the other manufacturers by 3 to 1.
and they have always looked cool when anyone plays them.
