| i prefer the deep or mid bowls for sound quality & projection (that's not to dis my shallow custom legend), but anyone have any thoughts on the sound of the shallow bowl 1986 collector\'s ? |

Location: Minden, Nebraska | I played an '86 Collectors in a western band for a year. We wore white hats and two of us had white Ovations, the other a Balladeer. Mine was pretty cool under stage lights with the white sparkle top and the black sparkle headstock.
The OP24 sounds good plugged in, but it isn't a particularly good shallow bowl guitar played unplugged.
I was going to say that THIS ONE on eBay really, really sucks... but someone already outbid me so I won't. :rolleyes: |

Location: us | as good as my mid bowl LX's sound , if the deep bowl is better...then I gotta have one ! maybe the 2077 legend LX... guess I need to mis- apropriate some more of the wife's landscaping funds... heh...heh...

Location: Marlton, NJ | I agree with Paul - the OP24 does sound good plugged in. I was reading the comments in past threads about how the shallow bowl is better for those of us with some poundage around the middle. I have to disagree. I play sitting in church and I can't keep the shallow bowl sitting straight on my leg. Actually I think that the problem is more of a lack of support for my right arm. I have a much easier time with the #47. I also tried a deep contour bowl in the local GC tonight and that was also much easier.
Anyone agree? Disagree? |
