Tim & Designzilla,

Thanks for the link and info...

I was sittin' out in the shop this afternoon just gettin' "mellow" and thought of that song and had to laugh again. It helps to be "mellow"!

"My wife ran off with the garbage man,
My wife ran off with the garbage man.
I don't miss that woman...
But who's gonna empty may can???"

I'm glad somebody mentioned "sixteen little red noses". I was listening to my first ever home recording from about 15 years ago. It was that song.

I'm gonna take to a place where I've got a vat of dippity-do, sixteen little red noses, and a horse that sweats. I'm gonna stick you in the dippity-do, tie a rubber band around my fanny and run around you yelling "I'm an airplane - make me take off!" ...'cause I love you.

At least that's the way I remember it.

In a related (or unrelated, I can't decide) song, has anybody heard a song from a Martin Mull album called Ukelele Blues? Another cross-instrument blues comedy number. As I remember, it was pretty funny.

Yep, it was a white middle class blue number, by Blind Lemon Pledge. Martin Played slide using a baby bottle on the uke.
Lyrics went:
Woke up this mornin, saw both cars were gone,
Woke up this mornin, saw both cars were gone,
I felt so low down deep inside,
I threw my drink across the lawn.

I haven't heard that song for at least 20 years! No wonder I can't remember anything important.
