I know that this is off topic, but I didn't know where else to go.

Have just heard that Paul Hester the drummer from Crowded House and many other projects is no longer with us.

A wonderful personality on stage, and a poetic songwriter, who it would appear had far more demons than he ever let show in his private life.

I have no idea what drives anyone to the depths of ending it all, but nonetheless I'm saddened to hear it. My thoughts for all his friends and family, and any else similarly affected by such a sudden and painful loss.

John

from Crowded House's "How will you go":

"How will you go, how will you go?
Drive through the wind and the rain.
Cover it up, cover it up,
I'll find you a shelter to sleep in"

You implied that this was maybe self inflicted and not natural causes? Are there any links to more details?

The house is a little less crowed.

He was a good songwriter.

Now that is tragic. Just goes to show how strong depression can really be. That is the final takeover of body and soul.
