Hi,

Well I finally won one on ebay! I am the proud owner of a 1997 Collectors Edition. The seller was about a hour's drive away so I picked it up last night. Wonderful sounding guitar in mint, (hardly played), condition. The only problem I noticed this morning is 3 of the ebony tuning knods have cracked. I am going to replace all 6.

My Question is which model Schaller tuners are on this model. Stewmac lists large and small replacement knobs and says the small knobs are for the M-6 machines. Anybody know the answer?

It is a good thing Ovations stay pretty much in tune.

GAS is satisfied; For the time being. :D

The shaft is the same on 6-in-line and 3x3 Schaller tuners. The small buttons are for 6-in-line. The large ones usually for 3x3.

The small ones from StewMac fit. The Ovation Service Dept. also has them. I guess you missed my reply to you elsewhere...the buttons on the '97 are PLASTIC. The ebony buttons won't crack. When you remove the plastic ones and see the design you'll understand why they cracked. John <>{

P.S.- If you were coming on the tour you could show off your new beauty AND probably go home with those new buttons. Oh well...what a pity. I'm going with my protoge - willingheart06. I heard you 2 have made email connection. <>{
