"Once"
It was pretty good.
The singer/songwriter character is played by Glen Hansard who was the guitarist in "The Committments" and from the Irish band the Frames.
The soundtrack is predominantly whiney, "emo"-crap (ala Damien Rice) but it's not overtly dreadful, and it's got a decent storyline (providing you "understand" Irish). It's a good "take-your-daughter-to" fick (especially if she's into the musical genre). The co-star (besides "the Girl") is a Takamine A/E that has a top that makes Willie Nelson's look like a rank amateur.
I'm pretty sure it's a limited-release to smaller "art" theatres, so if y'don't see it around, it'll probably be in Blockbuster by Fall.
It's worth at least "checking out" . . . |
