Greetings - I am new to this site, and just finding my way around. I have a 10th Anniversary Ovation, model 1657, and want to find out more about it. I notice that many of you have model numbers like 1657-7 or the like. What does the -7 mean? I would like to find out what my Ovation is worth - it is in mint condition except for a finish-only crack just below the bridge. Any info would be helpful. Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the club ... you'll get a lot of good information here. The -7 refers to the finish color ... in your case "nutmeg". Also happens to be my favorite finish. ;)

It's hard to say what it might be "worth" ... it's "worth" a lot more than the market normally pays for one. What can you get for it? That'll depend on if a buyer comes along that wants THAT guitar at THAT time. You can check out eBay for closed sales and get an idea of what eBay buyers have been paying. There's a member named Roundback selling one right now (look in the for sale section) that is described as mint condition.

I hope you're not actually looking to sell it ... those are great guitars.

Stonebobbo and cwk2-

Thanks for the info. My guitar is actually natural color, not nutmeg, so I guess it isn't a -7. I have several guitars (only 1 Ovation), and no time toplay, so I have toyed with the idea of selling some of them off. Sounds like I should keep the Ovation and sell some of the others.

Welcome to the club...we're basically a harmless lot...passionate about Ovation/Adamas guitars and lately auto mechanics...(lol)...enjoy, and nice guitar!

Blessings...
