Maybe it's good to start a thread on this. First, take a pop song like Plain White T's mega-hit " Hey There Delilah ", then look at a typical DIY cover-version by some college kid sitting cross-legged on an unmade dorm bed. Much difference? .... NOT!

But how do you get from a one-shot, video-cover made with a cheap webcam and a single microphone, to money-in-the-bank? Well, enter a website like Tunecore® (and there are others). For pennies, your cover gets distributed to the music-selling sites every music buyer visits and sold right alongside the big studio releases. Oh, and you get to keep ALL the royalties.

How hard can this be? Is this about to change the music industry bigtime? What about gear sales? What about CD sales in brick-and-mortar discount stores? What about software to tweak your effort before the big upload?

What if MTV (or YouTube)came up with a new cable channel that showcased DYI vids?

Yes,that would help ,certainly it would, but one has to tune in on that channel, while the MarketingMachine "Flashes" into the face of everyone, pass a musicstore ,see a poster, billboards, commercials on TV ,etc.etc.,...
