| Howdy all! New to Ovation Fan Club, but a longtime admirer of the Ovation brand. Having already looked through a bunch of posts, I give a big thanks for all the helpful questions that have been answered on the many posts here.
My username is a reference to the folk artist Matt Elliott, who plays classical finger style guitar. An incredible picker.
I own a CK047-FKOA that I adore dearly. I also just scored a 1122-4 on eBay, which I am excited about both because I've wanted a finger style oriented guitar (my preferred method of playing) but also because I've wanted a US-made Ovation following the sad news of the New Hartford plant closing.
Look forward to chatting with y'all!
I have one question that I have yet to find a definitive answer for.. on my CK047 the serial number is 7 long, which means the Ovation site's guideline for serial numbers is of no help. Is there any way of dating my guitar? |

Not really.
I had two CK O47's back in 2009. They were really nice guitars.

Thanks for your swift reply! The FKOA CK047's really are wonderful... such nice playability, and incredible sounding when plugged in. I know the general bent of people is to want a US made Ovation--Lord knows I have my temptations--but this plays and sounds as good as some "upper tier" acoustics I've played, Ovation or otherwise.
One other question, actually... is there a waiting period such that new members can post on the other threads aside from the welcome one? If so, how long? |

For some people, that is all that they want.
