Crack on my 87c should I leave it or have mother fix it with a new top? Crack is stable but has some burn through rest of the guitar is great! Love to hear some opinions, Thanks!

Did it happen by itself or did someone help it?

I guess the answer to your question is how do you feel about it?
If you like all your guitars pristine collectable then have the mothership take care of it.

If the guitar is a tool and has other dings, scratches, etc then I would probably just make sure it was secure and leave it be.

I do think it happened on its own. what you said made me think. It will be a players guitar as it was prior to me getting it. thank you

I would probably still take it to a qualified luthier. A crack like that can usually be repaired for around $50 but certainly under $100.

What is the humidity where the guitar is kept? If it just happened on its on I would definitely check both the humidity and the heat.

yes once I got the guitar, I have been humidifying it. the crack is sealed. I was trying to cover up the burn through but the stain wont take. thank you
