I'm thinking it may soon be time for my well loved yet well worn 6768 Elite to take a trip to the Mothership for some spa time. There is really nothing technically wrong with it, it could just use a proper cleaning, setup, and whatever else they'll find needs lovin.

Can anyone tell me what price range that will run me if there are no major repairs needed? I've heard its pretty reasonable, but just need to get a rough guess for future negotiations with the wife on rising guitar expenditures over these last few years...

Also, I have no experience in shipping instruments, so I'm not sure what this will cost either.

Thanks!

You'll get a better figure by contacting the factory directly, but everything I have had done was very competitively priced. Since you're in MA, the shipping won't be bad either. Pick your favorite shipper and go online for an estimate. If you are shipping in its case, use the figures below to get an idea. Yours may be slightly different, but they should be close.

A guitar box from a music store will be roughly 48X20X9 inches and will weigh about 22 pounds when packed and padded.

They will do a fine job!

Thanks for the info Patch. Actually its probably not that much of a drive to New Hartford, and I've never been to the factory. I wonder if you can just walk in with a guitar...

You would definitely do better to contact them first. John and Kim are both FIERCELY busy.
