Location: Upper Left USA | It looks 99% sure that I will be sending a Godin Guitar and Support assembly off to Belgium soon. All of which is wired to Good'ol merican 120vac at 60 cycles.
Any knowledgable offerings on what it takes to translate to the Belgian utilities?

No waffling now! A Step -Up transformer. ( 120 vac - 240 vac )

Location: Sunshine State, Australia | For me to answer that with any degree of believability, I'd need to know a little more regarding what's so special about a "Godin Guitar and Support assembly", or what it is, even. :confused:
With most electronic things you buy these days, the first thing the electricity sees is a transformer anyway. The 120V wouldn't be an issue,(easy to step up or down) but the 60Hz could be, depending on whether the transformer needs to rectify the AC to DC, or needs to remain an AC signal.
It IS possible to acquire a variable frequency device if the 60 Hz is crucial. It converts the AC to DC, then, using electronic wizardry, back to AC at the required frequency.
Bottom line is, the rest of the world tolerates the strange US voltage / frequency and there are devices to correct your crazy ways.
240 volts @ 50hz, now there's a REAL man's power supply. :p
(So, is a "Godin Guitar and Support assembly" something that everyone knows about except me? and I've just been talkin' a load of Llama droppings.) |
