So the Mothership dumps a load of 1781s on the market and the various Ebay shops start listing them.

They try various techniques:

Buy it now
Make an offer
Starting low with high reserve
Starting low with no reserve

Now is it me or are these just not selling? If we take one as an example, highest bid $1125 but the reserve not hit then let's presume that's what the market thinks it's worth at present. Yet some are asking > $2000. Funny old world.

Personally I think I'll wait till someone gets one then sells it on in a few years for bargain bin price.

Ho hum.

BTW: Has anyone bought or tried one?

Seems to me they'd be worth more than a W597 and less than a 2080.

It's the economy worldwide, and evilBay in general...
It also depends on how desperate that seller is!
I got my K-1111 and 07C when people first started freaking-out, so I got good deals.
Lately I have noticed alot of people listing things higher...
Their attitude being, "It is worth This Much! Pay it or I will just keep it!"
That is where the $2000 asking price comes from.

Here\'s one with an honest, straight, Auction...

There is no rhyme or reason it just is what it is at any given moment.

The demand for adamas guitars is miniscule to begin with and the 1781 is piled on top of a buch of other models that already don't sell in the current economy. So what did you expect?

I saw/played it at namm and it was very nice. If I was in the market for that type of instrument I would consider it.

It would look right at home hanging between similarly appearing 1581 and 1881 models.
