I just bought an Ovation on eBay, it's a left handed 1621.
When I got it home I discovered that it's fitted with a right handed pickup/saddle so the stagger is the wrong way round. The nut has been changed also, so presumably it was strung right handed at some point.
I'd like to get a left handed pickup for it. The model number stamped on it is 704600.
I emailed Ovation, they passed my query over to Fender GB who responded (quite promptly) that they have a left handed pickup listed but they don't have any details and it would have to be ordered in via my local dealer in Ireland.
So can anyone tell me if the pickups are all the same dimensions and would I be safe to order the one that Fender GB can get?
Alternatively can anyone recommend a supplier in the US who might be able to help me?

Location: Denmark | Unless this is a collectors item: Isn't it possible to reverse the saddle position (the white plastic parts) or - if not so - drill a second feed through passage under the saddle and reverse the position of the PU as an assembly? |

Location: Cork, Ireland | I tried fitting an undersaddle pickup to my Applause. I just drilled a 3mm hole at the end of the saddle slot for the cable. Then I did one at the other end of the slot 'cos I messed up the 1st one. No harm done, only drilling the bridge and the top (but maybe there's a risk of drilling through a brace?) |

Location: Scotland | You don't need to replace the entire pickup assembly. Just remove the molded saddle part and turn it around. It is just sitting on silicone rubber and comes off easily. Use a little rubber solution glue to secure it again if neccesary. |
