Location: Keller, TX | I'd be wary of this one. May be a good guitar, but the way it is being advertised bothers me a little.
The first line says "like new" FRG model with warranty. My understanding is that it is either New (bought from an authorized dealer) or used. If it is new, you get the warranty. If it is used, you don't. FRGs get 5 years, Normal ones get lifetime. The warranty is valid only for the original purchaser.
So, what does "like new" mean? This may be just a wording issue, but it just doesn't fit.
SECONDLY, I e-mailed Oklahoma Vintage Guitar looking for a 1778LX. They said they have to list their guitars as FRGs even if they aren't. Since they are an Ovation dealer, Ovation won't let them advertise below a certain price unless it is FRG. Since the ebay auction price is less than their set floor price, they have to list them as FRGs. I don't know if you will get the full warranty if you buy one from them. |

Location: Madison, Wisconsin | There is a Genz Benz dealer in Virginia that does the same thing with amps on Ebay. They list them as being used demo amps so they can advertise below the suggested price but in fact they are new in the box amps. |
