Can any of you Hamer fans tell me if this is a good Hamer and if it's a good value?

It's a really good Hamer! As to value, it's a lot of bang for the buck. However, it's not a great deal when resale value is considered.

Yes, that's a good one. I think it's a very good price for that guitar. I don't think you'd lose much if you ever want to sell it. Personally, I've never seriously thought about selling my Hamers.

Any USA Hamer is a well built, high quality, hand-made custom boutique guitar. There are different models with different sounds for different purposes. You might be expecting one sound but get quite another. $1,000 for a used Artist model with a flame top in excellent condition is a good deal.

Factors:
Condition, Age, Original Retail Price, scarcity and Mojo.
Condition:Better ='s higher price
Original Retail Price: Higher price ='s higher later price
Age:Younger ='s higher price, on trade ins, generally, 35% off the moment it's sold then 10% off each year, down to value of spare parts.
Scarcity:Fewer ='s higher price
Mojo:Bigger mojo ='s higher price

I've seen them for less, but if this is primo condition, and this guitar has mojo, then it's worth it.

Mojo ='s a charm in a sack that gives you luck, usually with carnal love, or control over women.
