On an early scouting expedition for the OFC meeting in March I happened to be at the factory on Friday. When walking through the customer service dept I spied piles of pickguards. For future reference guys, always check the factory first.

Also checked out their current production. I must say the factory looks great, orderly and efficient and the product is good. Sounds really good too. We all know that old sounds better, even with a bowl back but have youse guys noticed how good the Ovations sound these days? They would of course be better if there were deep bowls etc. but in general I thought they sounded better than I remember new guitars sounding.

Then again, maybe I've been breathin too many jet fuel fumes (and drinking my bathwater). Ya'll are never withour an opinion, let's hear it.

Great tip about the pickguards, I wonder what other treasures are buried at the factory.

I've said in several posts that I believe the current USA production to be well made, great sounding instruments. A friend of mine has a new-ish mid-depth Legend which leaves my '72 deepbowl Legend for dead.

I've said before that I've played a S771 Baladeer next to a Taylor 5 something and the Baladeer had a better sound.

I like the elite T I think it is a step in the right direction. Does Ovation even make any money on that guitar at that price point?

Good question Al. I can't answer it, only "those in the know" can. Well?

Bill:
Did you get a chance to play the new Folklore while at the factory?
