| Howdy - I just acquired a VXT, and it has a few features that seem unusual for this model. The un-engraved truss rod cover and the washer around the switch could have been switched out, but the serial is oddest of all. Not only is it not inked, it starts with a 6 - I was under the impression these went into production in 2007. It's also a big round number, so I'm wondering if this is some kind of pre-production prototype.
I'd be greatful for any insight. |

Location: Steeler Nation, Hudson Valley Contingent | Hmmm... They do look different from what I remember. I had a VXT a good while back and remember an engraved TRC and the serial number being white! Of course, that was 15 years ago! Maybe they changed it up a little over the years? Here are some pictures of what I mean taken from the Ovation Tribute web site. Whatever the case, I'd just like to say that you have a GORGEOUS guitar there! |

| Maybe just a super-early one, then.
One more question: does Ovation still sell a case that fits this model? Probably a long shot, I know, but mine came with a gig bag so I'm looking for something that gives a bit more protection. |
