| Hi All,
I have a mid 70's Deacon (humbuckers) which I'm trying to sell, I've had it up for sale since October and I tested it then and it was all working and it's been in the case since but someone contacted me the other day who is interested in it so I took it out put a couple of batteries in it and no output.
If I crank the volume up from the noise I can hear the volume, tone and notch filter are working but a very very low virtually inaudible level from the pups if I tap them with a screwdriver, I'm assuming one of the transistors has probably gone faulty so I guess I'll need to remove them from the PCB and test them, any other ideas on what it might be? |

| Further testing reveals the JFET Q3 is faulty as I have no continuity between the gate and the source or drain in either direction, so I'll need to source a replacement.

| More testing reveals all 3 FET's are faulty, Q1 has continuity in both directions from gate to source & drain while Q2 has no continuity either way. |
