Location: SoCal | In the last years of the Storm series (71-72), they attached the neck at the 16th (or was it the 18th?) fret to give players more neck to use. This was in hopes of giving the guitars more appeal (and use up the last of the inventory)..... |

The JR and GC Thunderhead set that I have are from 1970 and have the later, 18th fret necks. Possibly they were the first to have this? No way to ever know for sure. |
