I am curious about this guitar. My wife won this guitar in a raffle when she was a bartender back home. We don't play guitar, so it's basically been sitting in our closet collecting dust. We recently decided that we would try to sell it. So we figured we should read up on it so we can find out how much to sell it for. What we read was something along the lines that after this 1778T model, the next versions used overseas materials or something and didn't have quite the same sound anymore. I also found out the retail price for it when it was brand new was around $1360.00 MSRP. The guitar has not been played, my father played a little guitar so he told me to loosen the strings to keep from warping the neck if it was going to be stored; so we did that. It has it's original hard case and all items that came with it still in original factory plastic. Can someone give me a good price that I can sell it for? I get a lot of people making offers for it, but they refer to cheaper models "TX" versions and those only being $350 bucks or so. I just want to make sure we're not getting screwed over. Here is a link to one of our craigslist ad's that has some pictures of it if needed: http://bham.craigslist.org/msg/3475970742.html

Thanks,

Also what is the difference between the 1778T and the 1778T Elite?

First, a 1778T is usually referred to as an "Elite T" but it is an Elite series guitar.
My 1778T, my Orange Flame T and my 1868T all say "Elite" on the sticker.
Although I have see T's with "Elite T" on the sticker.

As to value... Not to be the Price Police, but I would not pay $1000 for it.
Patch is selling a nice one for $550 with shipping.
Here is a 2005 MSRP Price List
This is the Suggested Price, and people do their best not to pay that much.

They did not stop making Elite T's in 2004... I own a 1778T that was made in 2007.
You can look HERE for your serial number to determine the exact year of manufacture.

The LX series are made in the USA... (The AX and TX are made in Korea)
Your guitar has an OP-Pro preamp in it, not an OP-30.

Looks like a nice guitar, Good Luck with the Sale.

Arthur pretty much said it all. Your info is incorrect in your ad. They are not rare by any means. I could find at least a dozen for sale without trying very hard, and for even lower than Patch is selling his for (which is a very sweet deal I might say).

Also, not only are LX models made in the USA, but they're technically a higher end model than the T... especially a 1778LX. It has higher grade woods, finishes, and bling than a "T". The "T" was really the econo-version.

Those are great work horses!
Generally in the $500-$650 range on Ebay.
Arthur speaks well on this one and Damon is smart enough to agree!
