I had the good fortune of spending some time with him back in the eighties...a great man.....a true gentleman.......

Location: The Great Pacific Northwest | I'm not sure why I never realized this before, but Earl Scruggs / Lester Flatt was my FIRST concert. I guess I never really thought about it before because I really didn't know who they were at the time. My parents got me and my friend John tickets to their show at the Goodspeed Opera house in Connecticut in the mid-70's. I never really considered that my first concert or some reason, but I guess it was. I remember that while I didn't know what Bluegrass was at the time, we were blown away by these great musicians. |
