Are volume/tone knobs smaller on a Viper III than on a Viper? |

Although they fit in the smaler space I didn't think the ones on my Viper III were correct.
They look like Gibson witch hat knobs. |

When compared to my Viper II knobs, which are correct for that model, I
noticed the knobs on the Viper III are 1/4" smaller in width.
Are they the correct knobs?
I switched knobs and the larger correct ones don't seem to look as well in
the Viper III pickguard configuration (different angle).
Pictures on the internet show both size knobs on the Viper III.
