Hello, Nice forum. I just came across a 1995 Ovation EA868 CCB acoustic/electric bass with case. I was able to determine the year through serial number search , and the CCB is Cherry Cherry Burst finish, but I can't find too much info on the EA868 ? I guess this was the 'high line' model for 1995 but the onboard eq is now passe. It comes with a huge rectanglar case.
Questions:
Can anyone give me identity and value?
What strings are recomm. for restringing?
Where should I list it for sale? I'm thinkin here
Any help you can give me is much appreciated.
How do you post pics here?

Well.........I found it myself with help from the resources page. It is a 1995 EAB68 Viper Bass. The B and 8 look almost the same so that was the confusion. The rest of the questions are still up for grabs.

I have one. It's nice to have around and the overall quality is, like all USA Ovations, excellent. I have mine strung with flatwounds ... 105-45 I think. I like the way the flatwounds smooth out the sound. As far as price, it's worth whatever someone will pay for it. I got mine about two years ago for 500 bucks including the original case like yours.

You can post pics in the gallery ... you get there through the Member Access link on the left nav bar. I think there are insructions when you get to the gallery.

And WELCOME! Whatever Pacific Island Paradise is ... sounds like my kind of place.

Guam Baby.........a small island territory of the US in the eastern pacific ocean close to the equator and south of Japan/Korea.

Thanks stonebobbo for the reply. I think I'll keep it.
