Hi Folks,
Just a little TV viewing advise if you happen buy or sell anything that is considered collectible. Check out the latest installment of Real Sports on HBO. They are running a segment on "Certificates Of Authenticity" and other scams that are prevalent in on-line auctions. This carries over to ALL forms of collectibles and certainly should be a matter of concern for vintage musical purchases.
As a teaser, they had stacks of Babe Ruth signed cut outs. Hundreds of them. Each with a C.O.A. from a "known expert".
I wonder just how many all original 62 Jazz Basses there are left in the world?
Hope this saves someone some grief.

I look for the CWKII signature myself. Everything else is suspect.

. . . especially when you take into consideration that Glen's Mom forged his name on the earlier labels (when she worked at the Factory) . . .

I know where one is. And believe me it would take a lotta loot to pry it outa my possession. I take it out once in a while. I have a lotta very nice basses (Steinbergers, Mod Graf.,Alembic etc.) but I can't honestly say any of them sound any better than that 44 year old Jazz. Leo knew what he was doin' back then.
