Location: New Hampsha | A friend's son was shopping for a used a/e guitar, but wouldn't look at or try Ovations because he "didn't like the look of the round back."
I explained the reasons the round back made sense and asked him if he would obey his ears over his eyes - could he get over the looks if the guitar sounded that much better.
He said yes, so oday I brought in my 1982 Anniversary, opened the case, and he was blown away by the looks. As for sound - One G chord was all it took. He couldn't believe how loud it was and how nice it sounded.
The Anniversary has a new owner, and Ovation has a new fan... :D |

Location: Budd Lake, NJ | My husband played bluegrass with a bunch of friends who were more of a club than a band; I took my s/s LX to jam with them one night last month. Handed her to a fellow playing an Epiphone; I wish you could have seen his face as he started pickin'--"This is incredible! It's so easy to play!....This is a wonderful guitar!!" I almost hated to have to take it away from him and make him go back to the Epi....but I did.

Location: Chehalis, Washington | I recently was in a music store with a guy looking at a $300 Ibanez acoustic, and put a 1680 Premier in his hands...needless to say, he left with nothing, except the thought of what he could do to raise a couple thousand bucks... |
