I'm the proud owner of the guitar mentioned in the title, and I'm trying to find out some general information about it. Ovation's website does not mention it at all, and the only links a google search turns up are asian/russian collectors that say (roughly translated) "Check out this cool guitar I have!" Any info would be highly appreciated. Thanks and have a great day.

I don't know much about the different model #'s and all. I did a "multi-search engine" search and could only find the 1860 listed in a Thailand ad.
Using a currency converter I found that the price of 45,900 baht = $1,037.90 US dollars. Not much help. I did notice however that it comes in several "dash" #'s (i.e. -4,-5, etc...)again not much help. Some of the others here will most likely be of more help than I, sorry bout that

An 1860 should be a mid '90's Super-shallow cutaway 6-string. FET3 electronics. The suffixes are finish colours. I think this was pretty much the last incarnation of the Custom Balladeer. Nice enough guitar if you like super-shallows.

I have an Custom Balladeer model #1861, could you provide similar info for me, Paul? Also, mine's serial #395xxx, and I'm confused because it doesn't fit into the ranges given at the Ovation website. Why would my serial # fall through the cracks like this?

It would appear that 1861 was the model number for the Super-shallow Custom Balladeer in the mid to late eighties & the serial number would indicate 1989-90. For some reason the Balladeer model numbers changed in the early-mid nineties. As his been pointed out on several occasions on the board, the 4-digit model number system kinda fell apart & became confusing from the early 80's as more models were introduced. Sam may be able to shed a little more light.
