I was talking to a guy and he said that most Latino musicians use Ovations. I think thats great. Its too bad we dont see more of these bands on the tube. Or maybe I should get a different cable provider. Of cource they do most of theyre touring in south America and maybe florida.. Actually he said all of those bands use them. I think Ovation should do more advertising with these bands instead of some of the dudes from outer space that noone can relate to. There are a lot of spanish speaking Americans.

I would like to extend your topic even further and say that most of Europe as well uses ovations.I know that in Greece their are a lot of ovation players on stage.I think the instruments lend themselves to the style of music and have that sound that musicians look for..I enjoy listening to many different styles of music and latin is one style but i also enjoy listening to medetteranian, arabic and many other specific styles...There is some different and excellent music out there beyond America..I know that some people like to explore and discover like myself..While doing this i have found many players use ovation..I dont know this for a fact but the international market is probably ovations biggest market.Does nayone know the answer to that? Hey, I'm Latino! And I play an Ovation Balladeer!

But I think its wishful thinking to say most do. There are so many different styles of Latin music, it would make your head spin. Some types of music have very distinct guitars that you probably can only get from Latin America. And if you're playing flamenco, you’re playing a flamenco guitar. If you want to get a small flavor of the variety of music see if your cable company carries any Spanish music channels. Watch some of the Spanish music shows on the weekend. Or go to Latin America.

If investigating Latin artists to see if they are playing Ovations gets you to find out more about Latin music in general, I thinks that’s great. You'll enrich your music and surprise yourself with the creativity and variety of us Latinos.

These are my favorite Latin Rock artists. Each is very unique in sound and lyrical content. Jaguares, Mana, Fabulosos Cadillacs, Maldita Vecindad. The first two bands sell out wherever they play (in US or Latin America). Don’t know if any uses Ovation.

Sam,
The last I knew the majority of the Big Os were sold in the US. There were high concentrations in New Jersey, Atlanta, the Greek section of Chicago and a few cities on the left coast.
