Has anyone had the pleasure? I am interested in this combination, as the roland jazz chorus is/was one of the sweetest sounding amps on the market.

I have used the Jazz Chorus with the solidbodies and liked it. I prefer the grittier sound of the Bolt 60's from ROland, but the Jazz is a smoooooth puppy.

go for an acoustic amp like the trace elliot or the genz benz
jc 120 is too sterile IMHO

I agree, the acoustic amps are better but there was a time that the JC120 with an Ovation was the hot set up.

The chorus part, which Roland later released as the CE1, a big two button pedal which looked like a landmine, is still unsurpassed. But as for the rest of the amp, there's much better options for acoustic guitar amplification these days. The JC120 has lots of clean headroom, but the speakers & EQ let it down.
