Location: SoCal | No. Mine was also built in 1983 and is number 1400 and something. I think that they were built in the original specs for a couple of years and in 1985 or 86 went to rosewood fingerboards, regular body binding, and OP 24 electronics. But how many 1537's were built? I don't know. During that time Ovation also made a few 12's in the original specs, and I've seen a couple of cutaways also with those specs. |

Location: SoCal | I've only seen one 1537 style Elite 12 string (walnut fretboard, woodbinding, etc). That was about 2 years ago in the Guitar Center in Hollywood CA. Next time I was in, it was gone. Never seen another. I would have bought it, but I already had Big Blue and Blue makes it tough to justify another good 12. |
