Since I am sorta known in the vintage guitar world, often times people try to stump me with strange and wierd instruments. I have not seen them all but have knowledge about most. so about a 1/2 hour later he opens a case and brings over to me what I absolutely recognize as a prototype adamas. "you need this" he said. It has to go to someone that appreciates the history. There was a tag hanging off the guitar. This is what it said. I assume this is in Charlie's hand to Bill. I hope Cwk will confirm this. Well I/we struck a deal and the guitar went home with me. Pics when I get a chance. It is 8 hours from bellmawr to columbus. I got home at 2 am unloaded the truck answered e mail and put on the tv at 7 am my carpentars arrived totally unexpectedly in the rain to finish siding. I feel like i was run over by my truck not driving it.

I am working on 3 hours sleep.... my camera broke so I sent it back to nikon, I had to find my other digital got that, the batteries will not hold a charge so I had to recharge them and now it is dark so I took a couple of pics with the flash. This is an early engineering prototype. Pre epaulet design large access hole in the back for tweaking the braces. The neck has one of the original designs for the adamas with the extended fingerboard. not sure if you want to see more pics if so I can try to take them tomorrow when hopefully we will see some sun. I was really excited to get this guitar. it is one of the missing links between the guitars beginnings and what finally made it in production. this guitar is similar to the one Sam was selling or sold a while back. when I take a pic of the back you will see it has a hand laid fiberglass bowl. the strings on it look original I did not try to tune them up. Not sure if I should leave it or change them and try the thing out. hope you enjoyed this find as much as I did. I assume that the tag is genuine.

You have to love the humble beginnings of innovation, whereever you find it. I just admire people that have a vision and make it happen. http://cgi.ebay.com/CA-Composite-acoustic-guitar-Rare-Prototype_W0Q...
