No.
But then, I can't get the hallway of blood scene from "The Shining", and Tiny Tim's appearance on the "Tonight Show" out of my mind, either.

"Darling. Light, of my life. I'm not gonna hurt ya. You didn't let me finish my sentence. I said, I'm not gonna hurt ya. I'm just gonna bash your brains in. I'm gonna bash 'em right the f*** in. Ha, ha."

mike,
i've met you. your foundation is strong and will not be shaken. take some time to recoup and then prepare for your next adventure which is right around the corner.

italians are doing good in the movie/media industry and you look like a handsome poster boy for Italianhood. go apply for spaghetti commercial acting or something...

Sorry Mike, it is true that life is not a calm and long river ... especially regarding employment. Hope you will find a new job quickly!

Keep your chin up CL. I lost my job in February this year and I didn't see it coming....and it REALLY SUCKS!! But there's always someone who is worse off.

When I wake up in the morning and I'm breathing I know deep down that everything is OK and there's a guitar somewhere just waiting for me to play it. After nearly eight months I should've improved a lot but I guess I haven't been as productive with my time as I might have been.

Be patient and something will come along. Good luck.

Change is often very difficult. And sometimes, it takes time after the change to gain perspective, but it's almost always good. You just can't always see that right away.....

Sorry to hear about your situation Mike. I've been there before, and have experienced first hand, the mixed feelings associated with it. Hang in there ... when you least expect it, a better job will come your way.

Here's an amusing little footnote to the story. They put the wrong name on my severance package! They didn't just misspell it - they put a completely different first name. Talk about a kick in the crotch!

First I'm thinking that maybe they made a mistake and it was someone else who got the axe and I should keep working. Then I thought of poor Milton Wadams from Office Space who continued working despite the lack of a paycheck.

Oh well!

Ouch. Guess you don't get to keep the stapler either, eh? Glad you're keeping a sense of humor about it, Mike. Hang in there.
