Canada? Not so difficult, but still there is an impression of it being far more difficult to bring the law in to help. I have never been able to figure out why so many American sellers are leery of shipping to Canada or Europe. I would sell and ship to our European or Canadian members once they have an established history on the OFC. On FeeBay I would not sell internationally.

When doing business with people on EBay you don't know them from Jack, and you are ALWAYS facing some kind of risk. When dealing with international bidders that risk factor just increases exponentially. I've been able to track down crappy sellers and deal with them in a more direct manner when I had to. Out of country that would be impossible. I would also feel a lot more comfortable dealing with our more-established out-of-country members here, especially when they have good references through our other members. But hey ... even within the club there have been some bad deals, although they have been rare.

A well-known US member on this board did me a favour and bid on this 1537. His (my) maximum bid was almost triple the final prize. I was really surprised and more than happy how the auction ended! In the light of this bargain I really hope that the successful bidder is still willing to forward the guitar to me. Karl PS. So far I've only seen one sunburst 1537 for sale in Europe. It was only 10 miles from my home so I inspected the guitar but it was in terrible shape. The prize was $900. Don't know if it ever sold.

I'm sure there will be others in the future, and I am blessed to already own a 1537. I DO however hope to someday land a sunburst twin to go with the one I have ... a 1547 would be EXCEPTIONALLY good.

The only thing that might not be so great for you guys is that he's got a great songbook--but it's all in English. Maybe he's got a German one, too. Well worth a visit.
