Lola was banned by the BBC, a non-commercial station on the grounds that it contained the brand-name Coca Cola. Davies changed it Cherry Cola to get around the ban

Im not so sure that the word " banned " is wrong. Banned does not mean its a law it just means it is somebodys or some orginazations law or interpetation of it.In the 1950-s some of our State Governments had banned black people from using the same bathrooms as white people.. Remember all of the racial tension back then because certain State Governments wouldn't allow black people to enter certain so called white schools . There were protests everywhere by people like Martin Luther King because of all of the " bans " put on black people .Back then the Government had an awful lot of control on what a person could do & what the government thought was right & wrong so I think they did have alot of Banning of different things back then. The record companies would just have the lyrics overdubbed or the radio stations would bleep out( censor )the lyrics to get around the issue . We all know now that in todays world it is much more different from then so if you do go against the grain,, such as play the original version of the MC5-s Kick Out The Jams MFers ,, you will get a fine from the FCC,, just ask Howard Stern . On the thread "" Louie-Louie "" MWoody put a website on it about how much our government was involved in the 60s about that one song.Check it out it is a cool article from The Smokin Gun.The FBI spent time investigating it.I hope that this will get everybody a shot in the arm to address the censorship issue of " BANNING " Thanks for letting me vent on this and I hope this thread has some more life in it .I need to go fill my glass of Whiskey & Water back up.

WERE THERE SONGS THAT WERE EVER BANNED FROM OUR AIRWAVES ??? I THINK SO .
WHAT WERE THEY & WHY WERE THEY BANNED FROM THE AIRWAVES??
Lets hear from Ya. GWB

Linda Ronstadt got banned from Vegas for pretty much the same thing. So much for free speech.

Well, all the hip-hop and (c)rap stuff should be banned. Just the opinion of a jet fuel guy.

Apparently the public was also banned from buying tickets for their current tour.

thought of banned songs when I saw a movie about the life of Jane Birkin.

check out the video
http://youtube.com/watch?v=qO0J7O960ls&mode=related&search=

the tune is called "Je t'aime... moi non plus" which translates into something like "I love you...me neither" LOL

anyway I thought you may enjoy this gem.

BTW weaser "cop Killer" is the song you are thinking of and it was recorded by ice T and body count

banned because of the heavy breathing

here are the lyrics

Je t'aime moi non plus

[G]Je t'aime [C]je t'aime [F]
Oh [G7]oui je t'aime! [Dm7]
- [Em7]Moi non plus.
- [GOh mon [C]amour...[F]
- [G]Comme [F]la vague [Em7]irrésolue [Dm]
Je vais je [C]vais et je viens [F] [G4]
[Am]Entre tes reins [G7]
Je [C]vais et je [Am]viens
[F7M]Entre tes [Dm7]reins
[Em7]Et je
[F7M]Me re-
[G7]Tiens
- Je t'aime je t'aime
- Oh oui je t'aime!
- Moi non plus.
- Oh mon amour...
Tu es la vague, moi l'île nue
Tu vas tu vas et tu viens
Entre mes reins
Tu vas et tu viens
Entre mes reins
Et je te rejoins
Je t'aime je t'aime
Oh oui je t'aime!
- Moi non plus.
- Oh mon amour...
- Comme la vague irrésolue
Je vais je vais et je viens
Entre tes reins
Je vais et je viens
Entre tes reins
Et je me retiens
Tu vas et tu viens
Entre mes reins
Et je te rejoins
- Je t'aime je t'aime
- Oh oui je t'aime!
- Moi non plus.
- Oh mon amour...
L'amour physique est sans issue
Je vais je vais et je viens
Entre tes reins
Je vais et je viens
Entre tes reins
Je me retiens
- Non! maintenant
Viens!

a translation I found

love you I love you Oh yes I love you

Nor do I

Oh my love

Like the wave Irresolute

I go I go and I come Inside you my love I go and I come Inside you my love And then I hold on

I love you I love you Oh Yes I love you

Nor do I

You are the wave And I the naked island You go you go and you come you go and you come inside me my love and then we are one

I love you I love you Oh yes I love you Nor do I

Oh my love

Like the wave irresolute

I go i go and I come Inside you my love I go and I come Inside you my love And then I hold on

I love I love you my love Inside me my love I love you my love Deep inside me my love And then we are one

I love you I love you Oh yes I love

Nor do I

Oh my love

Physical love is a dead end

I go I go and I come Inside you my love I go and I come And I hold on

Now...come

The first song I remember being "banned" was Olivia Newton John's song "Physical". She had just gotten out of the good-girl image with the movie Grease. The song was supossedly about physical activity/athletics (yeah, right). I was living in Provo, UT at the time.
