Joined: June 2020 Posts: 110 | Ovation recently announced two new USA made guitars, an Élite and a Legend, both sport a mid bowl and have a cutaway. I love the idea of new Ovations made in the USA, but would have preferred a deep bowl without the cutaway.
Your thoughts? | ||

I mean, they guy was holding two of them, so it would be nice if he were to at least play a few chords and actually speak and elaborate more than 45 seconds of cell phone camera fast-talk on it if they expect us to come and spend "twenty-five-hundred bucks" on one. I checked the Ovation website and can find nothing about the new USA-made. The site's "news" section takes you absolutely nowhere.. so I suspect they are going to build a very few of them. Thanks they look nice with walnut appointments. But yeah they need to get them out for reasonable price. The AX junk is way too pricey so I doubt they will be offered for reasonable amount.

They look the same as my Balladeer that I thought was a mid bowl. I am not sure I understand the difference.

The surprise was that the side port served as an unexpected proof of concept of just how good any guitar could sound with a side port. I’m definitely interested in Ovation’s take on them. My use case may be different from how they perceive the market though. I don’t think I’d want any electronics—just a straight acoustic model for woodshedding or living room use when I wanted “in my face” sound.

Spruce tops with a couple of different colors, ALWAYS using the original rosette design and different prices if you want to pay for Balladeer, Custom Balladeer, Artist, Glen Campbell Artist, Legend or Custom Legend. Elites and Adamas are in a separate league of their own.
