Otto, I think BluesSailor still has a 1537 available. Here\'s the thread.

He's offering it for a very reasonable price. Many here consider it one of the best sounding wood top Ovation made.

That is a beautiful looking and sounding guitar! I reaaly wanted one about a year ago, but a few others jumped in it's way.

Otto, Marion is only about a three hour drive from Simpsonville (southern Style Jam II). You really should come and join us. There were around 20 different Ovations and Adamii at last years' Jam (and based on the fact that there have been a lot of aquisitions in the past year, there will be more there this year) . Plenty of lookin and playin to be had.

As the least skilled player of the group, I can tell you not to worry about it. Everyone tries to make sure that I learn one new chord a get together. I should be proficient by the time I'm 100.

C'mon and join us!!!

Otto - belated welcome! (I was out of town these past few days.) 2 years ago I had my first and only Ovation (a low end Matrix) that I'd had since the late '80s. Since I joined the board I've gone thru 9 (I think?) O's, including the ones I have now. This is indeed an evil group of enablers (including me).

If you can get that 1537 Blues is selling, do it. It's a superb guitar at a fantastic price. I've said before that if I had to get rid of all but one of my guitars the 1537 would be the one staying.

Welcome Otto! sorry I haven't checked in sooner.

I am the soon to be new owner of the Q... and will be here on Monday.

there are lots of different flavors of nice Ovations here.

if you find a 1537 or an Adamas in the ballpark the Q was sold for you have a great guitar for a silly low price.

or you could do like some of us do, and have the mothership bring one back to life for you.

I have a rarer elite available, a N768 Craftsman, it's a player, but it has a AAAA top and lots of Abalone and is a deep bowl.

$550 shipped conus

again welcome!

Glenn

Man you got that right, Glenn. I'm finding that Ovation land is one deadly candy store! And my head is spinning from all of the new information I've been learning here. Thanks so much for the offer on the N768. I'm not a big fan of sunburst finishes (and still have my sights set on the 1537) but this one is a sharp looking guitar. The burst effect looks to be much more subtle than most. Is it that dark looking in real life or is it just the lighting in the pic? And do you know what the story is on the name - Nakao Craftsman? I've read something about made special for export to Japan??

No apologies Keith, it's all good. No doubt the world is unfolding as it should. If I was meant to have the Q it would have happened. Perhaps part of its role was to bump my path to the 1537? Or to your gracious offer of the 1581? Or even another Q? Only One knows. :) And right now He's got me hanging on some news from Blues. Should know something in a few days. For what they are worth, my plans would include having my first Ovation (preferably a real woody one about 25 years old) in time for a trip to Simpsonville to meet a bunch of you guys. Can only hope my plans work with His.

Stephen, is this in reference to the “87C (custom burst) coming soon” in G8r’s signature or are you seeing something else through that magical crystal Ampeg of yours?

The former, I'm sure.

Started cleaning and playing it last night (farewell tour) and almost did a "return of funds". Man, I forgot how awesome this one sounds.

Serge, you gonna be a happy camper.

I played my 87C last night. I usually rotate around and play several, but I started with the 87 and an hour later I was still playing it when it was time to watch the news and go to bed. They are just wonderful guitars.
