I'm sure everyone knows some really good classic rock, folk, country, etc, so let's share some "other" really good, fun to play, music. All are welcome, no one is going to get "preachy". It IS about the music. I hope to learn a few new tricks while I'm back there, maybe someone else can too.
Ya know Fred, I'll be new to the tour and jam this year, but from what I have gathered about the day and evening (I'll only be able to be there Friday day and evening), I thought it was supposed to be just like you describe. Thanks for putting it all together in a few great sentences. See you guys Friday.

I'm going for the the people.

Ok, and the beer and to play Paul's, Jeff's and Mike's guitars (that should cover half the OFC).

I will need a killer lead player for "Grace like Rain though!

If it can be played on a ukulele, count me in! But you may need to rename the song "Grace Like Pain".

Have you ever driven with Moody?

Or Al?

I'd be happy to give you a few pointers Dave. I'm bringing a manual.

Just a thought, and worth probably nothing since I won't be there myself.

Every one who's going is going to be there because of two things: Ovation guitars and other Ovation players. That is first and foremost. Obviously, the opportunity to jam with other enthusiasts is too good to pass up. However, not everyone knows the same music, so there is going to be some differences in what everyone can play or is interested in learning.

This board is a great resource tool for many reasons. Look, we recently had a backup guitarist for Shania Twain on here looking for a guitar (how cool is that!). For a lot of worship leaders and church musicians, just as with secular paid performing musicians, the ability to network with others in your same field is an invaluable opportunity, whether it's worship music, rock, grunge, polka, or whatever.

Personally, if I was going, I would like to participate with several group jam sessions playing different music. It doesn't divide - it's kind of like small group time at a weekend camp; you spend two hours playing capture the flag with 200 people, but then you hang with half a dozen buddies to swap stories and joke around.

For Christians, it is all about the message, because that's what we live by. It would be kind of like asking a WWII German soldier if he loved his country or not - duh! On the other hand, as a worship musician, our passion, and the way we express our dedication and faith is THROUGH THE MUSIC. Of course that offends some, probably in the same way that hip-hop offends me. :D The point is, the love of music is what is bringing all these people together, whether it's Jars of Clay, the Beatles, or Gordon Lightfoot. That's what the focus is this weekend. How everyone gets there is more or less irrelevant.

I'll get off my soapbox now.

Works for me....

I don't wanna do stuff with a message unless it's "Dead Skunk In The Middle of the Road".

(like the way I tied it in with another thread mentioning LWIII?"

Hi Moody p.i. I will not be there this year we bought a mattress and a new car.
I probably should have bought a van to go with the mattress. Have fun and try to keep Cliff in line I dont think he would take a good mug photo.
